Resources

The Counter Fraud Centre develops resources to help build counter fraud culture and capability in New Zealand's public sector.

This guidance will help public sector organisations prevent, recognise and respond to fraud and corruption. It aims to help build an anti-fraud culture within organisations and reduce the likelihood of fraud and corruption happening in the first place.

There is no single solution to managing fraud and corruption risks, and organisations need to continually adapt to respond to rapidly evolving fraud and corruption threats. It takes a holistic approach that incorporates detection, prevention and redress, underpinned by a strong understanding of risk.

Although there will always be fraud and corruption, prevention is the most cost-effective way to reduce the risk of it occurring. By understanding the conditions that can lead to fraud and corruption and putting in place effective safeguards, organisations can protect public funds and maintain the integrity of their processes.
