New online learning modules have been launched to help public servants across Aotearoa New Zealand strengthen their understanding of fraud and corruption, and their role in preventing it. Although this training is designed with the public sector in mind, the lessons are equally relevant to the private sector.
Developed by the Serious Fraud Office Counter Fraud Centre (CFC), in partnership with the Leadership Development Centre at Public Service Commission Te Kawa Mataaho Public Service Commission, these modules are part of a broader suite of interactive online learning resources focused on building a culture of integrity and accountability across the public sector.
“These modules are designed to be practical, engaging and accessible to all public servants,” said Dan Eaton, Deputy Chief Executive, Strategy and Prevention. “By equipping staff with tools to identify red flags and better understand the risks of being targeted by criminals, including trusted insiders, we’re building a public sector more resilient to fraud and corruption.”
The new modules explore what fraud and corruption look like in a public sector context, common warning signs, and what individuals and agencies can do to prevent and respond to fraud.
The CFC is committed to working closely with public sector organisations to strengthen their ability to prevent fraud and corruption.
The training is now available to all public sector agencies and their staff through the Leadership Development Centre platform.
